Eastern white knotty pine is a solid wood. It a top-quality wood that has healthy and strong knots. This wood is sought for the particularity of these knots which gives the product a unique character, by even enhancing the more rustic features of a house.

Features and Benefits:

Light wood with uniform grain can be nailed or screwed without causing cracks;

Since massive white pine has a high dimensional stability it can be used indoors and outdoors.

Special features and cautions:

Solid knotty pine is normally dyed or varnished and used to maintain the appearance of the woods grain. It is strongly recommended to lightly sand the wood moldings and clean them before dyeing or varnishing.

Humidity and temperature changes (sunlight, heaters, fireplaces or other heat sources) can cause resin seeps that pass even through dyeing. Clean the resin with turpentine.

Allow wood to acclimate to air at ambient heat 48 to 72 hours before installation. Do not store in the basement or in an unheated garage.

When you paint knotty pine, to prevent knots from coming out, it is necessary to use an oil primer. However, it is not necessary to use an oil paint after using an oil primer.
